Goals, they motivate us to accept great challenges and drive us to achieve amazing things. Whether you're planning on running a marathon or you want six pack abs, setting the right fitness goals will help you succeed. Setting weight loss goals is the best way to stay focused on what you're trying to accomplish, and BodySpex will help you track your progress as you strive to attain them.

Tips for setting your fitness goals

Make it specific!
What are you trying to accomplish? Do you want to lose weight? Do you want to build muscle? Look better & feel better, run farther, run faster??? You probably have several goals you want to achieve. One at a time, write them down!

Make it personal!
Why do you want it? How will you benefit? Are you trying to get ready for your wedding and want to look your best? Are you hoping to impress someone at your class reunion? Do you want to stay healthy to play softball with your children? The more it matters to you the better. This may be the most important motivator you have, write it down!

Make it measurable!
How will you measure success? How many pounds do you want to lose? What size pants/dress do you want to fit into? Do you want six pack abs? or bigger arms? What size? How will you know when you look & feel "better"? How far do you want to run? How fast do you want to run it? If there's no way to measure success you won't succeed. Once you've reached your goal you can always set another one

Make it time-sensitive!
What's your deadline? Sometimes this is easy, when is the wedding or class reunion? Or when is the marathon? Often there isn't a date set in stone, in this case you have to create a deadline. Maybe you want to lose weight before summer vacation or thanksgiving or fit into your old jeans by your birthday. Giving yourself a deadline helps create urgency and increases motivation. Pick a date and try to stick with it. Remember it. Write it down!
